Melinda Fleming

My name is Melinda Fleming and I am the business manager for Trilogy Partners.

I grew up in Oklahoma and every year my family vacationed in Colorado. I fell in love with Colorado and the mountains on these vacations. My husband and I moved to Colorado in 1998. I spent the first years in Summit County working for Vail Resorts and an internet company before joining Trilogy Partners in 2004.

My husband and I have a hot air balloon and we spend our spare time sharing the sport of hot air ballooning with friends. We enjoy being able to view the Rocky Mountains from our balloon, the best view in town. We also enjoy snowmobiling and snowshoeing in the winter. These are great ways to experience the back country and truly enjoy nature at its finest.

I love my job and I feel privileged to work with the team of people that makes up Trilogy Partners. The thing I enjoy the most about my job is working with our clients through the entire project. It is very fulfilling to be a part of the team that takes the designs and ideas of clients and turns them into a home. It is great to be a part of taking people’s dreams and visions and turning them into reality.

Breckenridge is now the place that I call home. I hope in five years that I am still here enjoying the lifestyle the county has to offer and I still want to be a part of the great team here at Trilogy Partners.

Position: Director of Building Operations

Education: BA in Communications, minor in Natural Resources, Colorado State University

Other work Experience: Image Construction/co owner, Lamochattee Construction, framer, trim carpenter, American Tree and Cement, concrete finisher, landscaping

Favorite Things: Skiing, mountain biking, whitewater kayaking, golfing, camping

The best thing about working here is: The team, great people in the company, working on the highest end homes in Breckenridge and delivering a finished product to a very satisfied owner/client

The worst thing about working here is: Not much really, if I had to pick one, the long hours we work, but keep on doing it because I love the work we do and what we deliver

The best thing I’ve learned is: multi tasking numerous projects at the same time

Where do you want to be in 5 years: Here, with the company and hopefully with a house and a great big yard!

Most Notable Memory While at Trilogy: Most notable or most rewarding was securing a C.O. on our most unique speculative home, Calecho, in which we worked for nearly two years on because of its complexity and detail. After finishing the project with 6 straight weeks, no days off, we were recognized by the Summit County Building Association with the Grand Prize in it’s catergory. Sure made it worth it. We all knew we had a magnificent home, but when others recognize it, makes it feel like we provided a great home!

John first laid eyes on the amazing Colorado Rocky Mountains in 1983. It became a far fetched dream that he would live amongst those mountains some day. John didn’t exactly understand that when he traveled to Breckenridge for a vacation in the summer of 1998, that his dream was being realized. As often happens in life, the path planned is not always the path taken. So that summer, John left his life and career producing movies in New York City to work with his clients and talented designers and builders to create homes for families here in the mountains of Colorado.

After founding Trilogy with his brother and sister in 1998, John has been involved in every aspect of Trilogy and the companies growth. He is proud of the successful collaboration that has been achieved between clients, the team, banks, designers, vendors and sub-contractors resulting in amazing homes and dreams realized. To his clients he owes the most thanks for they have given him the opportunity to create and produce homes that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Year Joined Trilogy: 1998

Position: Managing Partner

Education: Williams College, Cornell University

Other work Experience: Financial Markets, Independent Film Making in New York

Favorite Things: Happy Clients, unique projects and creativity, Colorado when it’s warm and Hawaii when it isn’t

Best Trilogy Moment: Finishing our first house and selling it the next day. WE WERE IN BUSINESS.

The worst thing about working here is: Working outside when the weather is cold, and paperwork

The best thing I’ve learned is: Think outside the box. Always. Create, don’t repeat.

Where do you want to be in 5 years: Here, there, and everywhere designing great homes, working with amazing clients, finding just the right piece of furniture in a market in Bali.

Most notable memory while at Trilogy:There have been so many. Not long ago I was driving across the Mojave desert from California pulling a Uhaul full of very expensive Japanese furniture for one of our clients. We could not find a shipper who could deliver in time to move the clients into their new home by Christmas, so not only had I purchased the furniture, I was delivering it.The phone rang and it was Melinda, our operations manager. She had called to tell me that Trilogy had won Summit County Builder of the Year. I thanked her for calling and went back to driving. It would have been nice to have been at the awards ceremony, but it was also great to be getting the furniture back to Colorado.Suddenly there was a car behind me honking its horn. Lights flashed and the car pulled up along side me. I was going about 80 miles an hour as the passenger rolled down his window and shouted something at me. I couldn’t hear, and he shouted again. He pointed back and suddenly it dawned on me. I quickly pulled over and ran to the back of the trailer. Yes, the door somehow had come wide open. But somehow, not one stick of furniture was lost. That was a good day.

Buffalo Terrace

Every Trilogy Partners home must have a story…

In this case, the home of their dreams was a long time in the making. With thoughts of building a retirement home in scenic Colorado, the owners discovered the marvel of a timber frame home.

The combined forces of Woodhouse Post and Beam and Trilogy Partners resulted in a contemporary masterpiece perfect for the owners. The Southern Yellow Pine timberframe is accented by the meticulous attention to detail paid to every aspect of the house. This home is a culmination of what it means to design beautifully, with sustainability in mind and affordably while showcasing the range of timberframe design.

At the heart of the home is a custom fireplace featuring intricate tile work and custom shelving. The windows look out over the Breckenridge Golf Course and across the valley to the Ten Mile Range. Simplicity in decoration enhances the inherent beauty of this house. The porches prove to be a peaceful place to relax and enjoy Colorado’s breathtaking views.

Trilogy Partners used the latest in building technologies and green materials including Murus SIP panels and a hybrid heating system.
